My mother 76 years old had performed an usg whole abdomen and two kidney stones were found 7 mm in lower calyx of right kidney and 5 mm in lower calyx of left kidney. Here creatinine level is 1.18.routine urine test shows pus cells 5-6 and urine culture shows ecoli infection. The urologist prescribed portrate mb 6 syrup, lasilactone and antibiotics. I asked the urologist if she should undergo uretoscopy procedure. But he said to observe as the stones are still small and recommended an ultrasound after 6 months as my mother is not showing any pain symptoms. But I think 7 mm stone is not small and there are high chances it will not pass out naturally. So what shall I do? Should I wait and observe?

The size of stone is important, but its location is also important. Stone is in calyx and unlikely to get obstructed. The treatment if urine infection is important in present case. Wait and observation should be done with follow-up kft and usg.
