20 years old male, its been quite a long that I am witnessing a visible reduction in hair density on the top portion of my head, followed by a recession in hair line, from my forehead. I wish to start using a product contain a 5% solution of minoxidil, fortified with 0.1% finasteride, also I came to know that the side effects of these medications are rare. Can I start using the product right away? Will there be any side effects, like my hairs getting accustomed to these medications ,i know that minoxidil works by shedding the hair in the initial months of application but will there be any side effects like my hairs falling off due to minoxidil, will there be any side effects like an accelerated rate of hair fall once I stop using the product (((((accelerated rate from the rate of reduction of hair density that i'm having presently))))

Hello lybrate-user 20 years is too young to experience hairfall and receding hairline. I understand your concern and anxiety to control the condition but what I suggest is that if you really wish to control it then better do it the right way and not just jump start with some half known stuff. Your hair take nutrition from your body, so to begin with its most important to know how healthy you r and of your body is getting all the required nutrition. Minoxidil with finastride is the treatment of choice in most cases but it shouldn't be taken unless prescribed by a trichologist. I suggest you visit a well known trichologist in your vicinity and get a cbc, vit b12, serum calcium levels done alongwith whatever tests the Dr. advises u. It is important to know the cause of hairfall and tackle it accordingly, only taking minoxidil will not give you long term results. Hope that helps.
