It's a normal thing to happen after scaling! but doesn't mean scaling shouldn't be done. The reason why it happens is during scaling the tooth is exposed to high level of vibration and ultrasonic sound, which disrupts pulp all response temporarily. Moreover when the calculus is removed from the tooth, it exposes the tooth surfaces of root portion naked, which are normally covered by gums but in person with calculus there would be calculus between the tooth surface and gums. Eventually when the gum heals and reattaches to the tooth surface, sensitivity/tingling goes away. From person to person the time varies between a week to 2 week with maximum time of a month.
