If you are doing regular exercise, it will increase your fitness, which is very good; however it may not reduce weight much.
Calorie counting is useless. If you want to count, count nutritional value of food in terms of protein, fiber, good fat etc. To achieve weightloss - think long term - no crash diet. As I said, weight loss achieved over short term, always comes back.
Try this general approach (see below) for 4 weeks. If this works (moves your weight in right direction) then continue.
