For non surgical treatment for chronic osteoarthritis: 1. Do regular walking 2. Do stretching and strengthening exercises for the joints involved. Yoga is a good option. 3. Eat green leafy vegetable and fruits daily 4. If pain and swelling is more, take pain meds to bring them under control. 5. Injections into the joints can also help bring pain under control if medicines don't help. Good luck!
