I am 64 years, male, perform desk work, non-deiabetic, having slight hypertension, perform regular freed hand exercise for 30 minutes. For last few months, I feel pain in my right knee at bending position. At day time while walking or working there is no pian sensation. But at bed at night slight sensation of pain in right knee is felt. Inspite of that I am continuing exercise including skipping 500 nos. If exercise stopped, I feel much pain. Three years back I suffered from swelling and pain in right toe caused by uric acid. Requested an advice from an expert physician.

Your knee pain could be due to degenerative changes setting in your knee despite your very active lifestyle. You will have to do specific exercises to strengthen your knee muscles, walk daily for 2-3 km in around 30 minutes, avoid cross legged sitting and indian toilets, take a short course of a gentle anti inflammatory medication like tab ultracet or something which suits your body. There are ways to keep your uric acid value in body to low levels. General recommendations are: - decreasing intake of red meat, alcohol, rice in your diet and other purine rich sources - also increase your water intake so that uric acid is excreted from body well. - keeping your weight to normal levels will also help you. - intake of fresh fruits, citrus fruits and cherries has been implicated in reducing uric acid values in the body as well. Nowadays there is a medication by the name of febuxostat which helps in lowering uric acid levels in body if they are high in your case but kindly check out that it suits your body.
