Iam having thyroid since two months with 6.5 is this dangerous any precautions to be taken best doctor to consult.

tsh value of 6.5 milli units / ml, is subclinical hypothyroidism. Usually no treatment is given. If you have any symptoms related to hypothyroidism, then treatment may be initiated. Precautions are: take iodinated salt, avoid soy beans, soy containing products, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, peanuts, mustard, radish and coffee. Exercise regularly to prevent weight gain. Check tsh levels periodically once in 6 months, to see any change has occurred. When level goes above 10 milli units or if symptoms appear then treatment needs to be initiated.
