Hair fall and hair thinning are two different problems. Hair fall is the initial sign of thinning of hair. Loosing hair on daily basis is normal. Our growth: fall ratio is 80: 20. So 20 % of our hair area always in fall phase. These hair normally grows back. But if the scalp is visible then it is thinning of hair.
There are reversible baldness and irreversible baldness. Reversible baldness means growth is possible eg --alopecia areata, diffuse hair loss.
Irreversible baldness means hair follicles are dead and regrowth is not possible eg---male pattern thinning, scarring alopecia. It is important to check the scalp and hair.
