Hello lybrate-user may b your tooth is re-infected, there can b various causes for this thing to happen- 1. It can b due to poor oral hygiene, leading to any gum infections, causing rct to fail. 2. It can b due to poor cap placement, 3. If cap is not there, might b the permanent filling is fractured, leading to the microleakage through your gp points leading to infection. 4. May b your previous rct itself was not done properly, 5. May b adjacent teeth are infected, leading to the spread of infection in rctreated one too. So I would suggest you to visit a dentist for proper clinical check-up with xrays to find out the cause, and further deciding the proper treatment. May b your tooth will go for re-rct or extraction.
