Jai jinendra, gaining weight should not be a problem. But as said, if your constitution is such, even if you consume lots of carbohydrates, your weight might not increase as expected. Moreover, certain people have high bmr (basal metabolic rate) which in turn can be responsible for your low weight gain. If you are not putting on the weight, the problem could be of assimilation of consumed food for which you can consult a good homeopath who can advise you for good homeopathic medicines.
