I am a 23-year-old and have begun to experience some hair loss. So I decided to do a little research on the topic to find possible causes and solutions. In my research, I found that one of the leading causes is DHT, which is a byproduct of testosterone. Is this true?

Yes it is true. DHT will get attached to DHT receptors which are situated on Fonto vertex area of scalp and destroy the hair.Effect will be balding or thinning of hair. Hair fall is the initial sign of it .Hair fall doesn't cause thinning. It is needed to consult as soon as the patient notice it as it is progressive and irreversible problem
