Mr suresh, To maintain good health a diabetes patient has to follow a modified life style. 1) Take prescribed medications regularly with out fail. 2) Take balanced but restricted diet that provides exact calories based on your ideal body weight (67 kgs), blood sugar levels and extent of daily physical exercise. 3) Should consume more of green leafy vegetables, salads and permitted fruits (100 g a day) 4) Avoid sweets, direct sugar,jaggery, junk foods and pastries. 5) Avoid alcohol and smoking, 6) Exercise daily for more than `1 hour, brisk walking, jogging, running or cycling or gym workout of ones own choice 7) Strive to maintain blood glucose levels Fasting closer to 100mg, PP between 150 to 160 mg and HbA1c% <7. If you follow these steps meticulously then it is possible to live a healthy life.
