The color of the eye is dependent chiefly upon the color of the iris. The iris is a diaphragm that controls the amount of light entering the eye. The color of the iris is in turn dependent upon the amount of melanin pigmentation present in it. There are multiple factors that are affect the amount of melanin pigmentation. One of the main factors is: (1) race. The pigmentation is more in asians and africans whereas it is relatively lesser in europeans and people of white races.
