My mother has ldl 164 and cholesterol is 217 whereas my father has ldl 111 and serum triglyceride is 275. Both are taking ecosprin 75 and diabetes supplement along with thyroid, vitamin b12 and d3 supplements. Is it safe to use apple cider vinegar mixing with ginger, lemon and garlic juice daily at early morning empty stomach? Should we go for angioplasty test for both of them?

Hello, thanks for the query. Madam the information given is so scanty about both the persons, so it is difficult to comment. As regards taking apple cider vinegar a lot of benefits are claimed. But nothing is clinically proven. There are no definite clinical trial reports to say these are the definite benefits. Most important for your parents is to first control blood glucose effectively with appropriate diet, regular exercise and restricted diet along with medication advised. From the above information given it is clear that your mother is quite over weight with a bmi (body mass index) of 27.18 kgs/sq meter (normal < 23 kgs/sq meter) which means she is over weight by at least 11 kgs or more. This itself is the cause for improper control of diabetes and lipids. Since there is no information given on the drugs being used for controlling glucose or lipids, there is no way to comment any further. Thanks.
