Hello, thanks for the query as per books it' s always mandatory to have cap after rct. I your case I might be a fracture of tooth so better visit your dentist get a xray of that tooth. If it' s fracture than tooth has to be out/extracted, if not than go for scaling a nd abcess drainage and cap for that tooth. Thank you Dr. Aman bhatia chandigarhÂ

It indicates your root canal was not upto the mark. Go to a dentist and check for the tooth again by taking an xray. You have developed a sinus drainage beneath that tooth. Â

Mostly its case of failed root canal which has to be verified and confirmed by checkup and xray. If its failed root canal then u need to undergo re-root canal treatment following which it has to be capped immediately.Â

Having a cap over a tooth after rct is a must coz tooth becomes dead after rct which can lead to fracture of tooth so to prevent fractures of tooth capping or bridging is done. Since as u' ve said that your having pus formation below your rc treated tooth that means u get radiographed your tooth so go to your dentist who performed rct n ask him/her to recheck the canals if possible i. E re-rct of the same tooth ask for antibiotic paste filling inside the canal for 3 days prior to obturation u' ll see the pus formation stops n let your teeth capped. Â
