My teenage girls want to use nailpolish, but I have heard thataby nailpolishes contain formaldehyde and can cause cancer. Is it safe for my daughter to use it?

Dear mam, it is still controversial as there is no standardisation of chemicals used in nail polish. Though the quantity is very minimal and most of companies have been asked to remove harmful substances like formaldehyde. So once in a while it's okay to use it as we hardly see any related cancers in our opd, but not as a routine on weekly basis. More risk is for workers working in nail paint factories who are exposed multifolds than the user. Please use good standard brands.
