Hi doc I am 34 years old and was diagnosed with borderline type 2 diabetes 6 years back. The doctor suggested metmorphin 1000 mg once and all was well until a week back. I felt itchiness while passing urine and the foreskin looks chapped and white deposits are around foreskin and penis. I did random sugar check and the levels are between 250 to 290. I increased medicine dosage to 2 tabs a day and also avoided all sweet items. What should I do? Also I have a bicuspid aortic valve health condition for which I am taking concor cor 2.5 mg 1 tab daily.

Hello thanks for the query. I have seen the details and understand the concern. You should have been regularly checking the blood glucose, then this sudden realisation would not have occurred. Now as the glucose levels have gone very high, there is a need for upgrading the treatment. Another major issue seems to be your excessive weight, with a bmi of 33.15 kgs/sq meter you are having an excess of over 34 kgs (ideal body weight 80 kgs). This also affects glucose metabolism adversely as there is severe insulin resistance (ir). Hence now there is a need to upgrade the overall treatment, which includes looking at your dietary intake, extent of daily physical activity, fbg, pp & hba1c%, lipid profile and bp readings. Then upgrade the current treatment.
