I am suffering from anxiety disorder. While sleeping get jerk like reactions from different body part, sometime hand, sometime leg, sometime head etc. It happens only when I am entering deep sleep. Jerk is not there when I am awake in daytime. Soc has prescribed melzap md 0.25. google and came to know this drug is uswd dor treatment of epilepsy too. I do not think I require epilepsy treatment. Will there be any side effects if I start taking it. Wanted opinion from doctors.

Your symptom is suggestive of myoclonic jerks and the doctor has rightly prescribed the medicine. Since you are not a doctor, based on your google knowledge you have started having doubts about the doc s treatment. There are benefits and side effects with any treatment and discuss with your treating doctor regarding the same. I believe he has suggested blood tests, imaging and electrophysiological tests too. Good luck for your recovery.

Exercise one and half hr daily, Oil massage body, Hobby, Support from friends family, help others, weekly holiday, Yoga, Meditation
