My baby is 2 months and 15 days old. Her weight is 5.2 kg. She is on breast milk only and her birth weight was 3.4 kg. Doctor said she needs to increase her weight more as her birth weight was good. Pls suggest should I give her cow milk for one time or lactogen formula milk.

Hi lybrate-user, your baby's weight is absolutely normal at this age. Babies gain weight at the rate of 150 to 200gm per week for first 3 months. Please continue to give your breast milk only.

Her weight gain is appropriate so no need to give any top feed till 6 months age.

Your baby is very small for cow milk. Lactogen is safe.
