When ankylosing spondylitis affects the hip joint it becomes very difficult to walk. However unlike spine where we cannot do much, hip joint can be treated by joint replacement surgery. It gives a long lasting relief and walking becomes much easier. Also the pain around the hip goes away. You can send me the photo of your x-rays so that I can take a look at your condition. (send in private questions).
