Hi lybrate-user. Actually metformin is great drug, which actually decreases insulin resistance. May I know why it doesn't suit you? Hope you are following diabetic diet and exercise. Hba1c is not under control. I suggest you to do fbs and ppbs so that we can know which one to target. I often prefer linagliptin instead of teneligliptin as it doesn't have sideedfects .in my patients. Any queries you can contact me.

Mr K Pandey, Thanks for the query. I have seen the details mentioned. HbA1c% is high. It should be < 6.5% at your age, because strict control of blood glucose is essential for preventing long term complications associated with diabetes. You are already on multiple drugs, so unless following details are known : dietary pattern, extent of daily exercise, lipid profile, serum creatinine and urea and BP readings, it is difficult suggest any further drug addition. Plus in this communication we are supposed to give only general guidelines. So if you come back with all the information is a private conversation I will be able to give specific advice and prescribe the required medications too. Since you are having problem with metformin we will have to look at other options. Thanks.
