Nail-biting behaviour may be one of the symptoms of anxiety. Spend some quality time with him. Let him speak about his frustrations, anger, resentments, fears or any other negative emtions from his school, social and family lives periodically. Try some yoga&meditation techniques from a qualified yoga teacher who can design for his age. These may help him reduce his anxiety levels. Apart from these, there are some behaviour therapeutic techniques which can be useful if given by a psychiatrist/psychlogist.
