Hello, thanks for the question. At your age (76 years) taking glimiperide is not advisable. Because it can cause hypoglycemia (low blood glucose) as has a long duration of action. There are other better options which you can take. Please consult your physician and then take the medication. Blood glucose 430 mg is too high. Please let me know whether you have been having diabetes and since how long? What has been the treatment that is going on? Plus what is your weight, height, daily physical activity and dietary pattern. Unless all the aspects are known there is no way to suggest any treatment.
