I met an accident on 23/7/20. Fracture in tibia. Implant was fitted at guwahati, assam on 15/8/21. In january, 2021 infection found. Then I visited paras hospital, Patna & the doctor of patna remove the implant & infected blood by doing one operation on 23/2/2021 after that as per advice of doctor of paras hospital, patna I have done x-ray of my left leg (infected leg) tibia. After watching my latest x-ray done on 9/4/21 doctor said that there is fracture in plate of tibia & one more operation will be needed. Presently knee pain is there & sometimes it has become unbearable forme. If possible kindly advice how to proceed as if I go for operation is there any chance for 2nd time infection?

your discription lacks details which implant was there before infection. it nail was removed and plate was placed and now plate has broken and bone is not united then definitely you will need an operation for removal of broken implant. if infection is cured then a new implant can be placed or other procedures intended to treat non union of fracture of bone can be planned. make sure infection is cured before going for any internal implant. i hope that helps
