Please tell me what medical specialist I should consult whether it is neurology or psychiatry. I am extremely confused. I have a few bumps like swelling on the back of my head since whenever I touch my head it causes severe pain. Like brain contusion or cerebral edema. The pain is severe on all areas whether it is at the back, top, sides and forehead. Headache pain increases when I am talking. I have permanent state of extremely unendurable unrelenting dizziness and vertigo since it affects me the entire day and intense excruciating headaches. I cannot stop feeling dizzy and vertigo no matter in what position, whether I am standing, resting on the bed, talking, running, walking, writing etc. The dizziness and headaches never go away, even after a period of long sleep. I always feel as if i'm moving when I know i'm standing, resting or sitting still. I often feel as though I am about to faint though I don't lose consciousness. I have enormous pressure in my head and occasional sharp pain through my skull and other symptoms such as brain fog where my mind is always empty no matter what activity I do as a result I am terrible in organizing thoughts & ideas and have terrible short and long term memory, causing severe problems in socializing and work since I easily forget in a very quick period of time. I feel loss of balance due to my extreme vertigo since my brain feels like I am spinning or the environment around me is in spinning, swaying, whirling motion as if I am permanently intoxicated like after a whole bottle of alcohol, my symptoms such as loss of balance, drowsiness, blurry vision, mood changes, lack of alertness, poor concentration, confusion in everyday matters, slowed reaction time, slow or poor judgement and floating sensation. So when I walk I have an unsteady gait which causes major balance problems since I fear that I am gonna fall down due to the artificial sensation of movement. The vertigo is at it's most extreme when I am angry. The head feels very heavy. I suffer from extreme fatigue and exhaustion since no matter how much I sleep, I never feel refreshed since I always feel extremely tired and exhausted when I wake up, which makes even simple activities like getting out of bed too difficult to manage due to the severe lack of energy. I have extremely persistent debilitating sense of weariness throughout the whole body. The feeling of being tired, weak, worn out, lethargic, slow or heavy. Which causes major problems at socializing and work. My concentration and memory is approximately 15-25% of normal what it used to be. Confusion since I feel disoriented and have a hard time making decisions, becoming easily distracted, lightheadedness, forgetting what a task is while it's being performed and terrible at remembering directions which means that without gps I can never drive since I would easily get lost, organizing thoughts and ideas, slowness in thinking, speaking or reading. I become easily distracted and find it difficult to keep focused on a task over a long period of time like easily losing the thread of conversations or starting tasks and not finishing them. If you were to ask me details about what we spoke during the conversations I won't have any idea only a vague 1% summary. I would easily forget it since my mind is always blank. Also not being able to concentrate when more than one thing is happening, for example, when I am in a crowd, or several people are speaking at once. I find the effort to overcome these difficulties extremely tiring as I try to focus and concentrate. Since I have neurodegeneration diseases that cause my brain and nerves to deteriorate over time due to genetic defects. I also have other symptoms such as panic attacks, attention deficit disorder and extreme social anxiety. I believe that the head injury that I had 2 years back when I hit my head on the toilet seat has had severe long term consequences causing traumatic head injury. It's a closed brain injury since there was not much bleeding, that even though 2 years have passed, the injury still feels so fresh like it only happened 1 month back. I literally never recover from the injury. I desperately want to do mri scan.
