Timely thinking indeed! the very purpose of top semisolid feeds started at this age is to support growth demands n to empower enable child to take routine home/family food at one year age any staple cereal mix with pulses/grams/nuts in 3: 1 proportion with added energy dense ghee/oil, jaggery/sugar cooked n made incrementally semisolid is acceptable. Prefered are custom made home cereal mixes. Acceptable but less favoured options of commercial cereal mix only in compelling situations like working mothers, travel, hygiene issues. Hardly anything to choose between variety of available flavours. Just ensure age limits recommendations. Mashed fruits, roots, veg to be started bit later. Avoid top milk, animal proteins upto 9 mths. Start with 4 feeds a day n increase gradually the volume, variety, thickness as per taste n acceptance of baby. Happy feeding.
