I am a chronic depression patient since last 10 years. Currently taking paroxetine 50 mg, lamictal 200 mg and buspin 10 mg. I have tried different combinations and finally paroxetine and lamictal combination eased my depression to 50 percent. In particular adding lamictal to paroxetine helped me a lot which paroxetine alone could nt help much. My main problems are short term memory issues, slowed down thinking and grasping. experiencing severe erection problem and lack of orgasm. Orgasm in the sense lack of ejaculation in sex. Initially I used for almost 3 years but I never faced sexual problems, but it did nt help me much items of depression so switched to paroxetine. I don't want to change this combination but suggest any add on medication to address the issue.

Hi, I can understand that there is a dilemma between getting adequate response from medication and getting relief from sexual adverse effects. I believe you have already discussed this issue with your psychiatrist and buspirone might have been added for this reason. If you want to stay on paroxetine, then other potential options are either decreasing dose of paroxetine (provided your depressive symptoms are under control) or adding a different medication such as bupropion or mirtazapine etc. Instead of buspirone. However, such a change should only happen after a proper discussion about risks benefits with a psychiatrist. So please consult in person or on phone for that.
