Question is not very clear. To prevent complication of diabetes? 1) Keep your body weight within control, i.E. BMI within 24 Kg / Metre Square. 2) Diet - It need lot many information about your weight, occupation etc. Depending upon that Calorie requirement is to be calculated. A good dietitian can be of your help. However - Diet should consist of Low CHO, Low fat and normal or little high protein. Grossly it can be said that a) STOP - Sweet, Sugar, Potato & starchy vegetables, Sweet drinks, Ice creams, Canned juices. Fried substances, Oily foods, Fast food, Butter, Ghee. B) Take High fibre, all coloured vegetables (but not starchy ones), Salad, Fruit (quantity of sweet fruits like Grapes, Mango Banana etc. To be controlled.) c) Proteins - from animal or vegetable source. No mutton, occasional chicken, regular fishes - fatty fishes are better that contains poly-unsaturated fat or good fat. D) Low fat and avoid Transfat and Saturated fats. 3) Exercise - Regular Brisk walking for 5 Km without fail. Little free hand like push-ups, sit-ups, Abdominal crunches, Chinning, Lunges shall reduce your belly fat and bring your body into shape which shall motivate you to do it regularly. 4) Monitoring Blood sugar parameters like FBS, PP2BS HbA1C - every 3 months, Lipid profile, LFT, S Creatinine, S Urea, S Uric acid every 6 monts to 1 year. Urine for Microalbumin once a year. ECG once a year. 5) Above all you shall have to be under supervision of a dedicated Physician who shall take care of you. Remember Physician loose interest if the patient is not sincere. So your sincerity shall automatically draw attention of your physician.
