I belong to a diabetic family in the sense that my father had diabetes and my elder brother has also diabetes. I had diabetes when I was young. Now I am aged 61 years and I have been going for running for one hour daily for the past 26 years and I eat mostly rice or rice preparation items like idly, dosa etc three times a day. I don't have any symptom of diabetes but I have psoriasis for the past two and half years. I checked my sugar level few times for some other medical ailments and it was in border. Is it safe to count on jogging only? Is psoriasis problem due to diabetes?

Dear, Psoriasis is a common skin problem. Psoriasis can be considered as the vitiation of Vata and Kapha. Accumulation of low potency poisons (Dooshi vishas), are the basic pathological changes taking place in the system. Irregular food habits, consumption of foodstuffs together (Eg: diary products with fish), excessive intake of yogurt, black gram, seafood, sour and salted items etc can activate the pathogenesis. Alcohol, tobacco consumption and stress will act as a catalyst here. Visit us at www.Malhotraayurveda.Com
