lybrate-user, thanks for the query. I have seen the details mentioned. However, there is no clear information on the following fasting, pp and hba1c%, lipid profile, dietary habits, extent of daily exercises being done. As regards metformin it can be taken up to 2500 mg a day. It is better if you come back with all above mentioned details in a private conversation (paid consultation) then I will be able to give specific guidance and even prescribe the necessary drugs. Because in this communication we are supposed to give only general guidelines. No prescriptions can be recommended. So if you desire on line help, please come back with above details. I await your response. I am sure you are aware in a well controlled diabetic patient fbg should be < 100 mg, pp 150 to 170 mg & hba1c% at your age should be < 7%. So I await your response. Thanks.

We need detailed evaluation to manage your diabetes. Your sugar is controlled with metformin 1 gm twice a day. There is no harm in taking this dose. But do not increase it any further. Feel free to contact me on private consult for detailed assessment and any further queries.
