Hello, you are taking right medications for rheumatoid arthritis. I think you can taper steroids. It is normal to have flare up while tapering steroids. But you need to stop them. We can take care of your inflammation by adding medications for 2 weeks. Also you have to continue taking folitrex and folivate. Consult me for detailed discussion and information. Thank you.

You will have to continue medications lifetime, ,and once you get your rheumatoid factor checked, based on which you can adjust the dosing, if you consult your rheumatologist.

Hello I have a few comments for your knowledge: 1. If you have a confirmed rheumatoid arthritis, then the choice of drugs is perfectly fine. 2. However, if the current dosage doesn't seem to work I would say you need dose readjustment or a change of drugs may be. 3. Your doctor might actually increase your steroid dose for some time before tapering it off. 4. Altered blood glucose levels are understandable and are to be monitored and managed accordingly. Lastly, please don't fondle with the medicines and their doses on your own, for they are two edged swords, striking the balance is important, else they will do more harm than good. Take care.
