Yes, thyroid hormone is necessary for normal physical and mental development of fetus. For prescribing medicine detailed clinical evaluation of patient is must. You should not hide anything from your gynaecologist. Better to discuss with her/him now.

Hello, Thanks for the query. I have seen the details given. I get a feeling that I have already once answered this particular question. However, I am answering it again. During pregnancy it is essential to maintain TSH in the recommended range :1st Trimester 0.1 to 2.5 mU/L, 2nd Trimester 0.2 to 3.0 mU/L 3rd Trimester 0.3 to 3.0 mU/L Therefore your TSH is high. It affects fetal growth and the outcome of the pregnancy. It is essential to maintain TSH around 3 all through the pregnancy. Plus you have to check TSH every 4 weeks during this period. Please increase the dosage by 12.5 mcg or 25 mcg then check TSH after 4 weeks to see if desired level is reached. Thanks.
