I am a female aged 40. I am having left knee pain for nearly 6 months. I do exercise and walking. Its manageable. On last wednesday, I know I strained more to the legs (exercise and walking). On thursday morning my left knee leg got stiffness and not able to walk freely and not bend. I had taken panadol joint for 2 days and get improved. Consulted general Dr. here. She taken x ray and prescribed glucosamine tablet, gastro resistant tablet and arcoxia 90 mg. It's ok yesterday but today feel same stiffness in knee. What will be the knee problem? Is it safe to take glucosamine for a month? Panadol joint gives me relief. Shall I continue that? My weight is 76 kg and height 163 cm.

Glucosamine is like a supplement so can continue with it if have taken for long already and didn't have any allergic reaction to it yet. Need to clinically evaluate along with xray of your knees to decide further course of treatment.

Sorry to hear this. As you are overweight, with probably high bmi, as per details given, you definitely need workout. The details given in your complaints and your profile details don't match. Anyway, locked knee after workout and running can be due to ligament/cartilage/ menicus injury. Go to a knee specialist. Glucosamine won't be of much help. Panadol can cause addiction. Better to find out the root cause. Thanks.
