Hi. I am a 35-year-old woman. From iran. I weigh 81 kilos.in the last three years, I have had regular kidney checks. The last one was six months ago. My creatinine number is always 0. 76 or 0.78.my laboratory range is 0.7 1.4.my urea number has always been 17 to 19. My normal laboratory range is 17 to 43. Butmy new test is my creatinine number 0. 88 and urea are 16. I have less than the normal amount in the laboratory. My creatinine is higher than usual. Has my kidney lost function and have been damaged? I have have been taking alprazolam for six years. Has the medicine damaged my kidney? Six months ago, I received six doses of one gram of ceftriaxone intravenously. Due to ocular sinusitis. Did the ceftriaxone damage my kidney? What should I do ?i had a urine test. My afternoon urine. It was completely normal. Should I have another test? Can my kidney get progressive damage? I'm very worried. Please help me.

Hi mam. Thanks for your query. Your serum creatinine levels slightly raised. But urea is almost normal range. You can take less protein in your diet and you should do exercise for reduce your weight. You can repeat test your serum creatinine levels. If it is raising trends you can consult with physician. Don't panic about ceftriaxone you used six months ago. Contineu alprazolam. If you want to stop this drug you can consult your treating physician.

Don't worry. It is still within normal range. Alprazolam is not comes under nephrotoxic drug. So just keep urself hydrated.

Good noon, as s creatinine range is 0.7 to 1.4 so in between range is normal, so your test report consider as normal. As alprex has no side effect on kidney except habituation ,and ceftriaxone is also safe. So do not worry. When you are in hot weather kindly keep your fluide in take 5 liter in 24 hours. Try to avoid alprex by reducing doses. Regards.

Pls first stop worrying! there is a minimal increase in creat and that too by ue data its only 0.8 which is well within normal if your kidneys are working fine as you had said its nothing worry, antibiotics can make small changes or for that matter any drug will cause mild rise! this is no big issue at all I would suggest a simple urine routine to look for any urinary infection and protein in urine your bp if its under control simple ultrasound abdomen alone to be done.

As per the laboratory values your renal function test is not alarmingly high. So kindly do an ultrasound abdomen to know the status of your kidneys to rule out medico renal disease and then we can further decide whether you need any medication or further treatment. Ceftriaxone usually does not damage your kidneys much so you neednt worry abt that.

Secondly your urea creatinine value is dynamic and changes according to your hydration status. Your reports are normal and urge you not to panic.
