Sir can human mixtard can be given morning 28 units and night 10 units to my father he 84 years his sugar level is showing 400.

Hello, Thanks for the query. When with a single dose of mxtard insulin blood glucose levels are not well controlled, then an additional dosage can be taken if required. Ideally fasting glucose should be about 120 mg (considering the age of the patient) and PP should be around 170 to 180 mg and HbA1c% should be around 7%. Therefore if glucose levels are not coming down as expected then additional dosage may be given. Thanks.
