I am 74 year old male. I had an attack of gout 15 years back. I took zyloric and microcid and got cured. Afterwards I continued zyloric 100 mg one tab daily. And my uric acid was maintained at 5. About six months back I discontinued zyloric on doctor's advice. Recently about 10 days back I had swelling and pain on my left foot. My uric acid was found to be 7.1. For last 10 days I am taking zyloric 100 mg 3 times a day plus microcid 25 mg 1 tab at night. Still swelling is very much there. Shall I continue same medicines and if so, for how long? I am taking dilzem30 2 tab a day for my heart disorder.
