For a compression fracture to heal properly will take 6 weeks. In the mean time sitting without support is not allowed. Complete bed rest with proper back care is necessary under orthopaedic/spine surgeon supervision. He may undergo osteoporosis therapy as advised by orthopaedic surgeon. Pain medications as advised by doctor.
