First time I done in 10 jul 2017 tests result were fbs 128, ppbs 183, hba1c 5.6 and avg 3 months 114.in 24 th march 2018 fbs is 99, ppbs is 136, hba1c is 5.3,avg 3 months is 105.4.and on 12th may 2018 fbs 103, ppbs 196, hba1c 5.9 avg 122.6 and on 24th sep 2018 rbs 115 and on 22nd aug 2019 fbs 97 hba1c is 5.6 avg 114.00. Now doctor stop my metformin sir now am I diabetic or not? Now I am confused.

Diabetic is always a diabetic. But now It seems that u can now control ur blood sugar with lifestyle changes n diet restrictions. Follow diabetes diet which simply means eating the healthiest foods in moderate amounts and sticking to regular mealtimes. A diabetes diet is a healthy-eating plan that's naturally rich in nutrients and low in fat and calories. Key elements are fruits, vegetables and whole grains. U can take (moderate amount) Grapes. Apples. Berries. Citrus fruits. Papaya. U should avoid Sugar-Sweetened Beverages. Sugary beverages are the worst drink choice for someone with diabetes. Trans Fats Sugar, cake, pastries Mithai/sweets Chocolate Fruits like mango, litchi etc. White Bread, Pasta Fruit-Flavored Yogurt. Sweetened Breakfast Cereals. Flavored Coffee Drinks. Honey 1. Don't take tea empty stomach. Eat something like a banana (if you are not diabetic) or soaked almonds or any seasonal fruit.. No only biscuits or rusk will not do. 2. Take your breakfast every day. Don't skip it. 3. Have light meals every 2 hours (in addition to your breakfast, lunch n dinner) e.g. Nariyal paani, chaach, a handful of dry fruits, a handful of peanuts, seasonal fruit, a cup of curd/milk etc 4. Finish your dinner at least 2 hours before going to sleep. 5. Maintain active life style 6. Avoid fast foods, spicy n fried foods 7.Take a lot of green vegetables n fruit. 8. Drink lot of water. 9.Curd is good for u. Exercise in the form of yoga, cycling, Swimming, gymming, walking etc. Now about point no. 5. You should join a gym for weight training. Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query. I have seen the results mentioned. At no point you were having diabetes. Because following are the criteria for diagnosing diabetes and related conditions: 1) normal glucose levels: fasting 70 to 100 mg, pp < 140 mg, hba1c% <5.7% 2) pre-diabetes: fbg 101 to 125 mg, pp 141 to 199 mg / 100 ml, hba1c% <6.4% 3) diabetes:fbg 126 mg and above, pp 200 mg and above, hba1c% 6.5% and above. Your first test results showed asting in diabetic range, but pp was in prediabetic range and hba1c% was normal. Only exercise and diet control would have given very positive results and resulted in normal glucose levels. Later results are fine. So there is no reason to continue any medications.
