Normal level is 12. Your reading is on lower side. For increasing hb, you have to eat iron rich foods: eat lean red meat: this is the best source of easily absorbed heme iron. Eat chicken and fish: these are also good sources of heme iron. Consume vitamin c-rich foods: eat vitamin c-rich foods during meals to increase the absorption of non-heme iron. Iron is also found in many plant-based foods such as: green vegetables, for example spinach, silverbeet and broccoli. Lentils and beans. Nuts and seeds. Grains, for example whole wheat, brown rice and fortified breakfast cereals. Dried fruit. Jaggery.
