Recently my doctor told me that my liver is getting damaged and began treatment. When, we consult with Specialist, we were consulted told that it is Hepatitis E. Before consulting with Specialist, my doctor asked me to give up some certain things, such as drinking (I am not regular drinker), and tobacco. Take care of it rest of my life because neither I will be recovered 100%, nor recurrence be cured. On the contrary, Specialist said that I will recover 100%. So, do I have to give up drinking rest of my life or after certain period I can drink, and recurrence will really be fetal? Please advise.

Dear at present there is no treatment for Hepatitis E flare up,,and good thing is that no special treatment is required bcoz, body cures it fully 100% on its own ..depending on the health and body make up of the person.. Drinking at this time or atleast 6 months after this disease will put severe burden on already diseased liver hence your doctor is absolutely correct in warning u of alcohol intake...and if possible refrain from drinking in future also as otherwise also it puts up a severe strain on liver to metabolise alcohol...there are so much healthier options available
