Hi lybrate-user most important thing is to do: see a gynaecologist to understand why you are getting your periods every 15 days. For increasing your iron you can start including - dark green leafy vegetables - pulses like chickpea (channa), kidney bean (rajma), moong bean - all kinds of lentils (dals) - lotus stem - rice flakes (poha) - puffed rice (murmura) - nuts and oil seeds - if you are a non vegetarian include fish, crab, prawn, liver - include vitamin c rich food like lemon, indian gooseberry (amla), guava to enhance iron absorption - cooking in iron vessel if possible - avoid tea/coffee which interferes with iron absorption. For weight gain - follow 8 meal pattern - early morning snack, breakfast, mid morning meal, lunch, early evening snack, late evening snack, dinner and bedtime meal. - eat a high protein meal - include lentils, sprouts, non veg, eggs, milk and it's products.
