I am 40. I had dvt three times (when I was 27 and 29 and 34) and after the third time my doctor prescribed me acitrom. Whenever I search for anticoagulant related information, I always get articles about warfarin. No articles refer to acitrom directly and very few refer t its constituent (nicoumalone). Why is this? Why would someone prescribe an almost non-heard-of medicine instead of something like warfarin? Is there a reason someone would prescribe this?
