My wife has undergone surgery of acute intussusception & stoma bag has been attached for 03 months. Now, my question is that (1) the purpose of attaching stoma bag for 03 months, (2) the purpose for taking 03 month for the colostomy closure & (3) How the life will be after the complete process of above surgery? Thanks

A stoma is made to prevent the life threatening complication of leakage from intestinal anastomosis, (joint) when the patient is sick. Life will be normal after the stoma is closed, provided it is done by an experienced surgeon.
