I twisted my ankle two weeks ago and had a lot of swelling around my ankle. I did not go for x-ray, just rested, iced, elevated, and compressed the ankle. A large amount of swelling has gone down, but I am still having residual swelling around the ankle. I am able to weight bear on the ankle and walk properly, but having pain in ankle if standing still or turning the ankle. Do I need x-ray or the swelling will go down gradually?
