By inner mind I suppose you are distinguishing between the conscious and unconscious minds. Whenever you feel an emotion and it does not seem to have a basis for any recent provocations, then you have to look into the past. Usually when there is an unresolved issue that has caused some sort of distress from your childhood, it will tend to recur in adolescence, seeking a resolution. It may come for the last time in late adolescence around the approximate age of 18-21 years, give or take a couple of years. If you remember any such incident, then you could recall the past incidents easily. If you have passed that stage and are still confused, then this is what you can do: Whenever you have a feeling (like sadness or worry, in your case), see if you can identify a reason, if not see how old you feel around that emotion. Then go back in time to that particular age and try to recall what happened. You may also ask your parents or relatives who were around about any incident that could have caused these feelings at that age and for any further details. Then you can resolve them. You could also look at the outcomes of your current behavior and see, if that gives you any indication too.
