My son is 1 year n 9 months old. He can hear well, does gestures and react to what we tell him but he is not talking more than single letter words. He sometimes says appa amma but not frequent. Can he speak at later period or should I consult a speech therapist for him? Or could he have any other problem to speak? Kindly advice.

Yes usually they catch up gradually. You should try speaking him with more. Help him to pronounce more words. The more you talk to them the earliest they learn. Also homoeopathic treatment can help.
