Dr. What is the difference between sex addiction and porn addiction. I masturbate before from 15 years but without any imagination but now as I started to watch porn I have begun to think female as an object after trying a lot, I can't think them as a real human being? I know it's wrong and impact on us negatively. What should I do?

Hello- a sex addict is made through early childhood trauma and difficult life circumstance. Those can be: emotional, physical, verbal, or sexual abuse that create a relational deficit in a person. This later surfaces as a sex addiction. This understanding of sex addiction was arrived at before the advent of the internet. The premise of the article is the internet changes the nature of addiction. This would mean that treating a porn addict should be different than treating a sex addict. People who don?t suffer trauma but find themselves hooked on pornography must somehow be very very different from sex addicts.
