Hi dr! I was given a steroid injection (intravenous) 7 days after I had a sex with sex worker whose status was known to me. Then at 35 day of possible exposure, I had a 4th generation elisa test. Which came negative. Now my question is that can this steroid injection (dexa) effect my hiv result?

It is possible theoretically that the steroid injection (dexa) may affect your HIV result. Please do not fear as the woman may not be infected as you fear and it is a point that all sex workers may not be infected at all times or when you go for sex. They have higher chances than the normal household females and that is the only risk.
