Hello doctor, I am diagnosed with ADHD, started with concrete 18 mg since yesterday. If this drug does not fit me what would be the symptoms. What alternative would the doctor prescribe me? Will it be Adderall? I am aware that it's not available in India, there's a non-stimulant called atomoxetine. I'm not interested to take atomoxetine. I needed the stimulants kind of medicine.

Hello lybrate-user you have been started on concerta xl 18 mgs only recently. Your prescribing doctor will review response, monitor for any possible side effects and if appropriate will titrate up the dose gradually till there is effective control of your adhd symptoms. Most of them respond well to concerta (which is an extended release preparation of methylphenidate which is a stimulant medication). If for whatever reason concerta does not suit you, there is no harm in trying atomoxetine. Many adhd patients do well on atomoxetine as well.
