As the investigations like mri brain and eeg are normal, this type of epilepsy called idiopathic epilepsy. If he is getting one or two episodes in a month, so epilepsy control is good. As regarding the recent episode of seizure, it is important to know whether he is taking the epilepsy medication regularly or not, because even if he misses one single dose of medication, seizure episode may happen and it is called medication noncompliance related breakthrough seizure. If medication compliance is good, then we have to find out seizure triggers what has precipitated epilepsy attack. If no seizure triggers present, then current medication needs to be changed.
